10893NAT Certificate IV in Learning Design & Facilitation
This course is aimed at individuals who design, develop, deliver and evaluate non-accredited training programs and learning pathways, who are responsible for analysing learning needs, designing and delivering non-accredited training solutions to improve workplace performance, and evaluating the impact of the learning experience and the application of learning to the workplace.
This qualification is issued by Spectraining, RTO 31971.
Entrants to the Certificate IV in Learning Design and Facilitation must demonstrate high level language, literacy and numeracy, and computer skills; sufficient to interpret and prepare written reports, interpret and communicate learning and performance needs, and to design learning campaigns and experiences.
Modes of Delivery
This certificate will be delivered via a series of blended learning experiences.
All learners will have access to support and a comprehensive suite of resources to help them successfully complete the program.
To achieve the qualification, Certificate IV in Learning Design and Facilitation, the learner must complete a total of nine units – six core units and 3 elective units.

The course structure identifies four units of competency that provide an early exit point for persons who wish to work as an instructional designer.
- Identify learning and performance needs
- Design and develop blended learning experiences
- Design and develop learning campaigns
- Facilitate e-learning
The assessment in this qualification involves a variety of tasks during and after the formal training components. This includes knowledge assessment, evidence portfolio, practical tasks and demonstrations, reflections and project work.
Volume of Learning
665-730 hours including supervised and unsupervised training and activities.
Successful completion of this course will require learners to engage in unsupervised activities including:
- undertaking self-paced study
- developing a project plan for coordinating learning initiatives
- consulting with key stakeholders and subject matter experts
- designing and delivering learning initiatives, and
- evaluating the impact of the learning experience and their own performance.
