Our Advisory Board members are all highly successful professionals and industry experts who are invited to work closely with Nicole Grundy (ILP’s CEO) for a period of one year to support ILP in delivering its goals and making a positive industry impact.

Dan Hill

Dan Hill


Over the last three decades, Dan has had the fortune of working in several industry sectors including defence, retail, wholesale distribution, mining, education and ITC. As a published author of several industry-leading titles, and a regular contributor to most social platforms, Dan has gained a considerable reputation in adult education, and education leadership and management.

He designs and facilitates nationally accredited courses in vocational education and leadership. Dan has also developed and run several specialised programs in the fields of emotional intelligence, workplace training and assessment, brain-based learning, and organisational culture.

As a passionate facilitator and speaker, Dan is able to engage groups with the right mix of humour, theory, practical activities and self-reflection. His professional experience allows him to draw upon interesting and poignant anecdotes and examples that link past experience in management, entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, operations and strategy to the context of any workplace or training environment.

Kerry Brocks

Kerry Brocks is the Founder of Asia Pacific Institute for Learning & Performance (ILP), passionately dedicated to enhancing standards and capabilities for L&D professionals so they achieve desired results. Previously working in senior and national roles at Australian Institute of Management, BDO Kendalls, and Ernst & Young, Kerry continually demonstrates her expertise and passion for L&D.

Kerry enjoys boating, exploring and bushwalking with her husband. Her family, including four children and seven grandchildren, adds depth to her adventurous life.

Ian Crowhurst

Members experience and engagement

Ian Crowhurst has been an International Learning & Development professional for almost 20 years and is currently the Head of Learning, Development & Talent at Origin Energy. Ian has led a number of learning functions in Energy, FMCG and Retail including Coca Cola Europacific Partners and Marks & Spencer both based in the UK.

He has been instrumental in developing and driving the learning culture and strategy at Origin which was key in Origin being named by LinkedIn as a Top 20 Company to Work for in 2021 and certified as ‘Great Place to Work’ in 2020-2021. Last year Origin was elevated into the ANZ Top Quartile for Learning employee engagement, demonstrating the internal impact and enhanced employee experience. Ian has won a number of learning awards including diversity & inclusion and last year was awarded the ‘Internal Learning Professional of the Year’ at the Institute for Learning & Performance, Asia Pacific Impact Awards.

Ian brings passion and dedication to the Learning & Development industry and quality expertise from large matrix organisations.

Amy Stewart

Expanding the addressable market & Partnerships

Amy is a distinguished leadership and emotional intelligence specialist, practitioner, facilitator and keynote speaker with over two decades of experience in learning, leadership, and organisational development.

Spanning Australia and the global stage, she is renowned for her captivating and inclusive presentation and facilitation skills, skilfully connecting with and motivating groups of all sizes and leadership levels.

Amy’s unwavering commitment to unlocking individuals’ true potential is manifested in her extensive portfolio, which encompasses the design and implementation of many hundreds of customized learning and leadership solutions, across countless service based sectors and organisations.

Her dynamic and customised approach prioritises alignment with organisational strategies and the fostering of desired cultures and behaviours. Notably, Amy has played a pivotal role in spearheading cultural change in core business areas, leading cultural working groups, shaping culture strategies, and closely collaborating with senior leadership teams to execute transformative leadership initiatives.

Rebecca Slingo

Professional Development

Rebecca Slingo is the General Manager, Learning at the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and has been an L&D practitioner for more than 30 years, leading learning functions across a range of industries including publishing, broadcasting, law, logistics and insurance. Rebecca has participated on various committees including a four year tenure as Treasurer of the Enterprise Registered Training Organisations Association (ERTOA) and has been an active member of the Financial Services Industry Reference Committee since 2019.

Rebecca is a Fellow of the Institute of Learning Professionals and a Member of the Australian Institute of Training and Development. Driven by getting things done she is practical and persistent in her approach, enjoying driving change to achieve real outcomes. Rebecca sees innovation and investment in bright ideas as paramount in maintaining the commercial edge in a business – she also likes to work smart so that there’s more time in life for travel, food and reformer pilates.

Andrew Shea


Andrew is an educational and business professional and known intrapreneur who specialises in leading high performing teams, optimising business processes and quality assurance and compliance frameworks. He is a proven transformational leader and has successfully fulfilled managerial and leadership positions across a range of industries.

Over the last 20 years, Andrew has managed and/or consulted with a number of Australia’s best known Registered Training Organisation’s.

As a teacher by trade, he for has personally delivered training and coaching sessions to over 2000 individuals over this time.

Andrew has a thorough knowledge of both challenges experienced by training organisations and also industry best practice having led a number of award winning training providers.

Michelle O’Kane

Principal Consultant

Michelle has been involved in training, learning and development for over 30 years and currently Principal Consultant with MOK Learning & Consulting. Michelle’s experience includes hands on roles as well as leading large training and development teams to improve workforce capability.

She has worked for well known FMCG companies including Goodman Fielder, The Smith’s Snackfood Company and Arnott’s. Michelle’s mining industry experience extends across surface, processing and underground operations for international mining organisations such as OZ Minerals, Glencore, BHP and South32.

Qualifications: Master of Business Administration, Graduate Certificate in Training and Development, Bachelor of Business Communications, Diploma of Training Design and Development and Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
