ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Jane Bozarth spent decades in state government as a classroom trainer, organizational L&D manager, and eLearning designer and program manager. In 2018 she shifted to a new path as director of research for The Learning Guild. In considering things she has chosen to challenge, Jane’s definition of ‘success’ is rooted in her desire for autonomy in her work, being able to live the life she wants, and the feeling that she contributes to the aggregate knowledge and development of those working in L&D. She attributes much of her success to the strong leadership and support she found early in her career in a vibrant, mostly female-populated community of practice. She is an internationally known speaker and has published several books. Among the things she chooses to challenge is the popular notion that government workers are not productive and innovative. She also challenges the idea that hiring is a one-way street: She has had great work experiences under the leadership of several of the bosses she hired.
