Michelle is a people development business strategist, author and practitioner. An award-winning workplace learning innovator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and of The Royal Society for the encouragement of arts, manufactures and commerce (RSA), and listed on the 2023 HR Most Influential Thinkers list from HR Magazine, Michelle for the past 9 years she has run her own consultancy, Kairos Modern Learning, which specialises in supporting organisations embrace the shift to more impactful learning and organisational development. Michelle has brought her years of people development practice in international corporates and consultancy to the People Profession through her globally popular book, The Learning and Development Handbook.
Michelle is on a career mission to drive cultural change from ‘Injection Education’ traditions to enable better workplaces. Supporting clients to create effective, efficient, enjoyable and engaging everyday learning and human centred cultures, Michelle offers a rare mix of a practical, pragmatic People Professional who really ‘gets it’ when it comes to business impact and strategy. She works with a wide variety of clients including veterinarians, international retailers, training providers, government departments, private corporates, charities, universities and youth organisations.
Michelle is a regular on the conference circuit, working with her client CIPD in particular. She shares her ideas regularly speaking at conferences, on webinars, podcasts, industry journals, Learning Now TV, and via her own podcast, Learning From The Edges, which explores friction in workplaces. Michelle is also an industry awards judge for the Learning Technologies Awards and the People Management Awards.
